our services
Following a recent tender process with Birmingham and
Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust (BSMHFT) we are sad
to announce that will no longer be providing counselling
funded by BSMHFT from the 1
st
April.
People already receiving counselling from us will continue to
have their sessions for as long as they would have had prior to
the contract loss.
However, we can no longer accept any new applications for
counselling at present.
If you are going through a difficult patch or had a particularly
bad day and you may need help to prevent a crisis (or are in a
crisis already), or if you may just be feeling lonely or low and
having a counsellor or support worker to talk to, meeting
other people or simply being in a friendly and safe space for
a while would prevent things getting worse; then our evening
Crisis Café is available to help.
If you are feeling isolated, would like to meet other people or
take part in activities/groups in a friendly and welcoming
atmosphere then we can help. Oasis provides social support
and activities including art/craft and music, LGBTQ+ support
groups plus a women only session, together with access to
our other support services and to a wide range of advice and
information on all aspects of keeping mentally well.
practical help
Unfortunately, we no longer have funding to provide benefits
help, financial and debt advice or help with housing. We may
be able to provide some limited advice and can help you find
the help you need from other organisations.
If you would like to take part in healthy activities to improve
your mental health our Creative Spaces project may be what
you’re looking for. Activities include gardening or outdoor
work, wildlife and conservation projects, art and craft work,
carpentry and general handiwork - and football! It’s also the
ideal way to socialise and make friends or just to be able to
walk or sit in a peaceful and relaxing environment.
We are trying to find ways of continuing counselling using
alternative funding sources and if we are successful we will be
able to take new counselling applications again.
Our Crisis Café is still running (it’s a separate BSMHFT
contract) and can provide immediate support for those in a
crisis, but it isn’t intended to provide ongoing counselling.
The new organisation providing the ccounselling contract is
the Women’s Consortium. The service can be accessed by
completing this online referral form.
