what’s new
New website launched!
As you can see, we have now got a shiny, brand new
website to go with our change of name from Solihull
Mind.
After nearly 40 years providing mental health services
in the borough as part of the national organisation
Mind, on the 22nd September the Solihull branch left
the organisation, and and are now operating as a new
independent charity known as ‘OASIS Mental Health
Support’.
We are happy to reassure people that as an
independent charity we will continue to focus on the
mental health needs of the local Solihull community,
delivering a range of services – from help in a crisis
through our information and advice line, counselling
service and nightly Crisis Café; practical support
through our specialist debt, benefit and housing
advisors; and through our support and social activities
such as our 7 day drop-in, organic horticulture/ conservation
work, weekly football and art sessions, plus woman only and
LGBTQ+ groups, which together help people improve and
manage their mental health issues.
Although we look back with fondness to our time within the
Mind federation - developing from a single weekly drop-in in
a local church hall to become an organisation providing a
wide range of mental health support and advice services
working with around 6,000 people a year across the borough
– we are also looking forward to our new beginnings as OASIS
Mental Health Support where we hope to continue to grow,
and develop new local mental health services as time goes
on.
